Proposed new Form of Government will be considered by the 219th General Assembly (2010)

July 3-10, 2010 — 219th General Assembly (2010)
Commissioners and advisory delegates assigned to the Form of Government Revision Committee (Committee #7) at the 219th General Assembly (2010) will be the first ones at the assembly to consider the proposed revision to this part of the PC(USA) Constitution.
The full report of the Form of Government Task Force includes recommendations to add Foundations of Presbyterian Polity as a new section to the Book of Order, as well as a proposed revision of the Form of Government and an advisory handbook.
The report is also available on PC-biz, which is the electronic system that contains all of the business coming before this year's assembly, to be held July 3-10 in Minneapolis.

Foundations of Presbyterian Polity — lays out the principles that are foundational to government, worship, and discipline for the PC(USA). Preserves the vast majority of the material in the first four chapters of the current Form of Government.
