Office of Immigration Issues

Now is the time to prepare for possible immigration reform. Media reports have highlighted statements from Democrats, Republicans, pundits, Evangelicals, and the President all calling for immigration reform. Over the coming weeks proposals will be made and there will most likely be little time to review them.

Start preparing by educating your congregation and community about the need for reform. Utilize the newly updated Comprehensive Immigration Reform Tool Kit and prayerful discern how God is calling you to ensure that our immigration policy is one that is just and fair.

Check back often as new resources are being developed.

Happy New Year!

Take action on immigration reform by sending your Senators a post card wishing them a Happy New Year and urging them to work for justice for aspiring Americans.  Download the post card, print, and mail to both your Senators.  Please share these with your congregation and community!

About This Department

The Office of Immigration Issues was created upon a resolution passed at the 216th General Assembly (2004) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The department communicates with middle governing bodies, PC(USA) entities and ecumenical agencies on immigration issues and policies. They also provide regular updates, reliable advice and counsel to presbyteries and pastors whose members have immigration questions or issues.
