Greetings from the Stated Clerk
A MESSAGE FROM THE STATED CLERK
I am Gradye Parsons, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
I want to welcome you to the official website of the 220th General Assembly (2012). The theme this year is Walking, Running, Soaring in Hope (Isaiah 40:31). The assembly will be held in Pittsburgh, PA from June 30 until July 7th. Literally hundreds of Presbyterians from the Presbytery of Pittsburgh are already hard at work getting ready for the big event.
If you have never been to an assembly, you are in for an incredible experience. It is one of the best opportunities to be Presbyterian – brothers and sisters from across the Church and around the world – to share the Lord’s Supper with thousands at worship, and to be inspired and encouraged by the ministry and mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
It is remarkable to see the spirit work among the over 900 commissioners and advisory delegates as they come together to discern the will of Christ for this church. At this Web site you will find some of the information that’s available. And over the coming months, additional information, including everything you need to register for the assembly, will be ready for you. If you are a commissioner or an advisory delegate you will want to come back often to receive updates about orientation resources as you prepare you for the important work ahead.
Once the assembly begins, come to this site often for live streaming of the proceedings, plus news and other photos.
Again, welcome, and see you in Pittsburgh.
