Connect. Engage. Discern.
Come to Face-to-Face, sponsored by the Office of the General Assembly’s Church Leadership Connection (CLC), to connect with search committees, mid council staff, and church professionals. Engage in conversation beyond the Personal Information Form (PIF) and the Ministry Information Form (MIF)/job descriptions. Discern God’s call to new chapters of vocation and ministry.
Connection and engagement between search committees and/or presbytery leaders and call seekers are a central feature of Face-to-Face. Conversations and interviews can happen any time Face-to-Face is open. Once you register, you will be sent a confirmation email asking that you provide your availability for further conversations. You can also participate in workshops, call consultations, or pop-up information sessions and listen for the movement of the Holy Spirit. Face-to-Face will take place from Friday, June 15, 2018 through Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in St. Louis.

30-minute Zoom video-conference session with Rev. Jihyun Oh, Manager of Call Process Support
If you’d like a fresh set of eyes looking through your PIF and offering consultation for how to more authentically communicate who you are and what you feel your current call is, schedule a PIF consultation. Sessions are available between April 17, 2018 and May 11, 2018. This will help those who plan on participating in Face-to-Face to be ready for the event with up-to-date PIF’s.
For Mid Council Leaders (Presbytery leaders, COM leaders, Synod leaders)
A forum to speak with one another about the challenges mid council leaders are facing in meeting ministry needs and helping congregations/organizations and pastors/leaders find one another in the call process.
Capped at 8 participants per session.
By appointment for call seekers.
Our calls change as we grow and change, as the Church is being reformed, and as the nature of ministry and society changes. Each 30-minute session is a chance for call seekers to work with experienced denominational leaders and to receive coaching and consultation in discerning their sense of call. Links to sign up for call consultations will be sent once you have registered for Face-to-Face.

A well-structured and just terms of call benefits both the minister and the congregation. This seminar, designed for seminarians, active ministers, PNCs/APNCs, and those who advise them, will revisit theological perspectives on call, compensation, and benefits; consider the financial realities of pastors; and illustrate considerations for structuring terms of call (e.g., explore fair cash compensation, define effective salary, summarize Pastor’s Participation benefits, review housing allowance basics). Participants will also engage the community nature of the Board of Pensions benefits plan, the Assistance Program, and new BOP initiatives to support congregations and ministers.

Why are the questions on the MIF & PIF on there? What should the information tell you? What else might you wonder about after reading a MIF/PIF? What information might you consider including in each section of your MIF/PIF?
Come learn and engage the forms and the questions again and ways they might help with your discernment, as an individual or as a church/organization, in the midst of the call process.
For call seekers.
Do you feel you have a call to ministry and are gifted at offering care and presence to others, but don’t feel called to congregational ministry? Are you trying to discern whether professional chaplaincy may be your vocational call? Are you on the path but not sure how to go further? Are you curious about all the different ways to be a chaplain?
Come connect and engage with representatives from PCCMP (Presbyterian Council for Chaplains and Military Personnel) at a Pop-Up Information Session. From basic information and discernment to endorsement, PCCMP representatives will be ready to share information and wisdom.

Do I stay or do I go? Is it time for us to end one chapter and begin a new one? What does all that is happening mean for the current pastoral relationships? Come discuss and practice ways of discerning beginnings and endings besides listing pros and cons.
