  • Celebrating the Call to Serve as a Ruling Elder: Webinar. During her term of service as Co-Moderator of the 223rd (2018) General Assembly, ruling elder Vilmarie Cintrón-Olivieri travelled throughout the denomination and found much to celebrate and share about the call and the role of ruling elders in the life of the church. Vilmarie served as the speaker of this online gathering as we explored the beauty of the vital service of ruling elders. A recording of the live webinar is available here.

  • “Serving as Ruling Elder”  is a three-session downloadable study which includes key beliefs, polity, and responsibilities of ruling elders in the PC(USA).
  • "Ruling Elders as Spiritual Leaders"  includes examples of spiritual practices for ruling elders and other spiritual leaders.
  • "Discern and Measure". According to the Book of Order, ruling elders are ordained to "discern and measure" the fidelity of the congregation to the Word of God and to strengthen and nurture its faith and life.   • "The Ministry of Ruling Elders after Session Service". A workshop resource assisting ruling elders in their role after service on the session is available here as a PDF and here with the accompanying PowerPoint.
