COGA Workgroups for GA225 Planning

 

Each of these workgroups serve unique purposes in support of Office of the General Assembly (OGA) Staff and their work to implement the Stated Clerk’s guiding vision and the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly (COGA)’s decisions related to the 225th General Assembly (2022) . Collaboration and trust will undergird these teams' work individually and as an overall support and visionary for the 225th General Assembly.

The workgroups meet regularly via Zoom and are open to observers as per the Open Meeting Policy.  If you are interested in joining a call as an observer, please contact the staff member serving on the workgroup (email addresses provided below).

Design Team

This team was created by the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly (COGA) to discern and guide the creation of the 225th General Assembly. The team, fully responsible to COGA, will work with the Stated Clerk and Leader for GA Planning to utilize the Stated Clerk’s Vision for the Church in the 21st Century and assist in creating innovative and creative virtual, asynchronous, and in-person programs to support the work of the General Assembly.

The GA Design Team will have primary vision responsibility and through the liaisons, will communicate direction and framework, but will remain fully responsible to COGA. Time commitment on this team will vary depending on deadlines, but it is anticipated that the group will meet monthly at minimum through December 2021.

Collaborative Work: Members of the Design Team will serve as liaisons to the other work groups to ensure fluid and clear communications, as well as maintain a unified approach to the Stated Clerk’s vision.

The GA Process Team will envision and create new and equitable ways for decisions to be made in committee and plenary meetings.

Assembly Events Team

The GA Events Team will work to envision and create ways for Presbyterians to connect in mission, ministry, and fellowship during the 225th General Assembly.

The Communications Team will work with COGA, the Stated Clerk, and the Leader for GA Planning to communicate and interpret the vision and plans for the 225th General Assembly to the church through various forms of media and platforms.

COGA Coordinating Committee

The Coordinating Committee plans the agendas for future COGA meetings, performs actions delegated to it by COGA, and acts as the personnel committee for the Stated Clerk.
