Since it is likely that significant parts of the structure will be impacted, applicants for open positions should be notified that it is possible that classes ending in 2028 and 2030 may not be completed and/or their roles may be significantly modified. The Unification Commission is ready to support the work of the Nominating Committee as the unification process unfolds.

The General Assembly nominations process is application-based and reflects the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s commitment to guarantee the full participation and representation of the church's rich diversity in the governance of the church.

The GA Nominating Committee can only consider active members and ministers of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and in some limited positions, non-Presbyterians, for elected service on approximately thirty committees and commission of the General Assembly. The GA Nominating Committee describes the opportunities for elected service in the church, invites those who feel ready to serve to apply, and then discerns from among those who have applied might optionally serve the ministry and mission of that General Assembly committee or commission.
