General Assembly Nominating Committee

General Assembly Nominating Committee

The Manual of the General Assembly, K.1.a., states that “The General Assembly may establish special committees and commissions to carry out decisions of the assembly or make recommendations to the assembly on matters that cannot be undertaken or accomplished by an existing entity. (Book of Order, G-3.0109)

The 222nd General Assembly (2016) approved the creation of several special commissions, committees, and task forces for appointment by the Co-Moderators of the 222nd General Assembly (2016) and, in the case of the Way Forward Commission, the Co-Moderators with the Moderator and Vice-Moderator of the 221st General Assembly (2014).

Persons who wish to be considered for appointment must complete an application form and provide three references.

To begin the application process for the following entities you will need to create an account in the GA nominations portal ganominations.pcusa.org:

Racism Truth and Reconciliation Commission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

Rules of Discipline Task Force - due November 15, 2016

Special Committee to Study the Reformed Perspective of Christian Education in the 21st Century - due November 28, 2016
